Participant Assistance and Care (PAC)
Participant Assistance and Care (PAC) services are provided to allow individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities to remain and live successfully in their own homes, function and participate in their communities, and avoid institutionalization. PAC services support and enable the individual in activities of daily living, self-care and mobility with hands-on assistance, prompting, reminders, support and monitoring needed to ensure the health and safety of the individual.
TradeWinds offers existing, trained TradeWinds staff. Another popular option is preferred staff (someone recommended by family or caregiver). Individuals recommended by family who are not TradeWinds employees would be required to complete TradeWinds application and hiring process, training programs and orientation. A relative of the individual may be a provider of PAC.
When our agency receives a referral from the State Case Manager, the referral packet is thoroughly reviewed by the TradeWinds Admissions team. This team will determine if TradeWinds can successfully meet the needs of the participant and can provide outstanding service to the participant. All required documents are requested by the Admissions Coordinator and safely secured in the main file room. The family and participant will be asked before the start of PAC Services to provide some likes/dislikes and different activities he/she would like to participate in so a schedule can be developed before the start of PAC Services.
